LIFE LINES

Greetings, and welcome to everyone on this Lord’s Day.  Visitors or family members here at 38th Street, your attendance and participation in the assemblies and Bible study today is greatly appreciated.

Two events are just on the horizon in this month of October.  The Stark County Ladies’ Day is next Saturday, the 18th, at the Massillon building.  And, our Friends and Family Day will be Sunday, the 26th.  This can be a great month, if we all work to make it so.

Have a great week, and God bless.

Family Matters

Prayer List:  It was good that, as last week began, all those who had been hospitalized were either at home again, or in an extended care facility.  Howard Moffett had gone home, as had Bob Franks after his lengthy hospital stay.  Also at home was Lila Hughes, after spending some time at Aultman-Woodlawn.  Still at Aultman-Woodlawn were Marge Block and Evelyn PooleGil Plummer continued his recuperation from his recent shoulder surgery, and Rich Stalnaker, husband of Sharon, had surgery on his shoulder on Tuesday of last week.  Others to remember are:  Bonnie Day (Ellen’s daughter-in-law); Marge Johnson (a friend of Ellen Day who had surgery recently); Mary Smith (the niece of Karen Smith with a pinched nerve in her back); Orion Kindall (Harry’s brother, who had improved some by the end of the week before last); Brenda Garvin and Linda Perrine, and some friends of theirs, who are all having difficulties; Brenda Koch, who came at last Sunday evening’s invitation requesting prayer for some decisions she is confronting in the very near future; those with cancer; those in military service; those at home and ill; our Shut-Ins; and the leadership of the 38th Street church.

Our Sympathy:  On Monday, September 29th, Ina Strickling passed away at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, where she’d been a patient for some time.  At the time of her death, Ina was 88 years old.  She was a member of the congregation for many years, and we extend our condolences to her family at this time of loss.  Her funeral service was on Friday, October 3rd.

Thank You:   Bob has returned home Thursday this past week after 39 days at Aultman.  We both want to thank each member that has called, prayed for him, sent cards and supported us through this trying time since his heart surgery.  He has a long way to go yet before his strength returns but with the Lord’s help he will succeed.  Each and everyone at 38th Street has been a true blessing.  We are so thankful to have a loving and caring church family.  Thanks again.  In Christian Love, Bob and Judy Franks, and family.

Christian Brothers and Sisters, Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers, cards, prayers, visits, food and your expressions of love and sympathy.  We cherish you, our Christian family, and are thankful for your love and support through the years.  God bless each of you.  Sara Ward and family.

Young-In-Heart:  Our senior saints group will be taking its Fall excursion to Holmes County on Thursday, October 16th.  We will meet at the 38th Street building and have Bible study, beginning at 10:00 A.M., then leave to go for lunch at the Dutch Valley Restaurant, at Sugarcreek, Ohio.  After lunch, the group will travel back to the building through scenic Holmes County.  Anyone is welcome to go along.  There is a sign-up sheet posted on the east-wing bulletin board for this activity.  Be sure to sign up by Wednesday, October 15th.  Come along and enjoy a day out.

New Address:  The McMichael family has a new address:  327 Lennox Ave NW, Massillon, OH  44646. The phone number remains the same.
